Pelvic Congestion Syndrome
Chronic Pelvic Pain · Ovarian Vein Reflux
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome — or PCS — occurs when the veins deep within the pelvis become enlarged and dysfunctional, much like varicose veins, but hidden entirely from view. The result is a persistent, often debilitating ache that worsens with prolonged standing, during or after intimacy, and around menstruation.
Because PCS is invisible on standard examinations and widely misunderstood among healthcare providers, many women go years without a correct diagnosis — some are told their pain is psychological. It is not. PCS is a real, vascular condition with elegant, lasting solutions.

Blood Clots · DVT · Post-Thrombotic Syndrome
A blood clot forming within the deep veins — most often in the leg — is known as deep venous thrombosis, or DVT. While it can be silent, DVT carries real risk: a clot that travels to the lungs becomes a pulmonary embolism, a potentially life-threatening emergency.
Long-haul travel, pregnancy, hormonal contraception, surgery, and certain inherited conditions all raise the risk. Prompt, expert care not only addresses the immediate clot — it protects your veins from the lasting damage of post-thrombotic syndrome, which can cause chronic swelling for years.
Warning signs
Sudden leg swellingWarmth or rednessCalf tendernessSkin discolourationBreathlessness — seek care immediatelyVaricose Veins of the Legs
Venous Insufficiency · Spider Veins · Sclerotherapy
Varicose veins are not merely a cosmetic concern. They are a sign that the valves within your leg veins have weakened, causing blood to pool rather than flow efficiently upward to the heart — resulting in visible, twisted veins beneath the skin, accompanied by heaviness and aching that intensifies as the day wears on.
Left unaddressed, venous insufficiency can progress — leading to skin changes, persistent swelling, and in some cases, venous ulcers. Modern treatment is remarkably refined: minimally invasive, virtually scarless, and performed as a comfortable outpatient procedure.

When your body
speaks, we listen.
Persistent Pelvic Pain
A dull ache that lingers — especially after prolonged standing or following intimacy — may be a vascular signal, not a hormonal one.
Heavy, Tired Legs
If your legs feel noticeably worse by afternoon or after long periods of sitting or standing, venous reflux may be the underlying cause.
Visible Veins & Skin Changes
Blue-green rope-like veins, spider vein clusters, or skin that feels tight and discoloured around the ankles all deserve a proper evaluation.
Sudden Swelling or Pain
Unexplained swelling — particularly in one leg — alongside warmth or redness warrants urgent vascular assessment to rule out DVT.
Our Approach to Treatment
Precision care.
Minimal disruption.
Lasting results.
Pelvic Vein Embolisation
A highly effective, minimally invasive procedure that seals the dysfunctional pelvic veins responsible for PCS — performed through a tiny incision with no general anaesthesia required. Most patients notice meaningful relief within weeks.
For Pelvic Congestion SyndromeEndovenous Ablation & Sclerotherapy
Using targeted heat energy or ultrasound-guided sclerosant injections, diseased veins are gently closed from within — eliminating varicose and spider veins without surgery, scarring, or extended recovery time.
For Varicose & Spider VeinsDVT Intervention & Anticoagulation
From tailored anticoagulation therapy to catheter-directed thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy when needed — we manage DVT comprehensively, with a focus on preserving long-term venous function.
For Deep Venous ThrombosisDuplex Ultrasound Mapping
Before any treatment, a detailed vascular ultrasound provides a complete map of your venous anatomy — revealing hidden reflux, clots, or abnormal veins that cannot be seen on physical examination alone.
Diagnostic FoundationMRI & CT Venography
For complex deep venous pathology — including suspected pelvic congestion — advanced cross-sectional imaging offers unparalleled visualisation of pelvic and abdominal veins that ultrasound alone cannot fully reach.
Advanced ImagingVenous Stenting
Where obstruction within major pelvic or iliac veins contributes to symptoms — particularly in May-Thurner Syndrome — precise venous stenting restores healthy blood flow and provides long-lasting symptomatic relief.

Patient Experiences
Voices of those
who found answers.
I had been told for years that my pelvic pain was stress-related. Dr. Chang was the first physician to actually investigate — and within months of treatment, my life had genuinely changed. I only wish I had come sooner.
I was terrified when I was diagnosed with DVT during pregnancy. Dr. Chang explained everything clearly and managed my care from diagnosis through recovery. I am happy to say both my baby and I are perfectly well.
My varicose veins had become something I was embarrassed to look at, and the aching at the end of every workday was exhausting. The procedure was so much simpler than I imagined — and I genuinely love my legs again.
