Vascular Ultrasound
A non-invasive scan that uses sound waves to evaluate blood flow and detect blockages in your arteries and veins.
Vascular duplex ultrasound combines B-mode imaging with Doppler flow analysis to assess arterial and venous disease — the primary non-invasive investigation for PAD, DVT, venous insufficiency, and pre-procedural vein mapping. Results are available immediately with no radiation.
Book This Evaluation
Vascular ultrasound provides real-time imaging of blood flow, enabling doctors to detect narrowed arteries and deep vein clots.
What It Detects
- Arterial: stenosis, occlusion, aneurysm, and post-intervention changes
- Deep vein thrombosis — sensitivity and specificity >95% for proximal DVT
- Venous valve incompetence causing venous reflux
- Anatomical variants affecting treatment planning
How It's Performed
Patients stand or recline depending on the vessels being examined. Ultrasound gel is applied and the probe moves across the area. The procedure is painless, radiation-free, and typically takes 30–45 minutes. Results are available immediately and discussed during the appointment.
Who Should Get It
- Leg pain, swelling, or circulation concerns
- Suspected deep vein thrombosis
- Varicose veins or venous insufficiency
- Pre-procedural vein mapping before endovascular intervention
- Follow-up after vascular surgery or stenting
